Hope Presbyterian Church is active in service and outreach to our local community and beyond. We have special opportunities for ministry throughout the year.
Backpack Blessings provides weekend food bags to students on the free/reduced-price lunch program at our neighborhood elementary school – we provide 65 food bags each week during the school year. Our pantry is stocked through the generosity of our members and the food ministry at Manna House. We gather on a regular basis Sundays following worship to prepare the bags.
Hope Presbyterian Playschool has been providing a quality environment for children ages 20 months through pre-K to learn and grow for over 25 years. Our members are personally involved in this ministry, supporting it with their time, resources, and talents. For more information about our Playschool ministry, please click here.
40 Days of Giving: One of the core spiritual disciplines of Lent is giving or service. This Lent, we are encouraging everyone in the congregation to participate in “40 Days of Giving” by donating one food item each day for each member of your household to benefit the Huntsville Assistance Program food pantry. Shelf stable food or personal items are requested – canned goods, peanut butter, personal hygiene items (shampoo, diapers, feminine products, etc.), boxed mixes, etc. Please gather your items during the week (Monday – Saturday) in a box or bag and bring them to worship on Sunday to donate each week. If you are unable to attend worship on Sundays, but still wish to participate, please contact the church office so that we can arrange to pick up your items each week.
